Omari Hardwick (born January 9, 1974) is an American actor, starring as Andre Daniels on Being Mary Jane.

Biography Edit

Omari Hardwick was born on January 9, 1974 in Savannah, Georgia. Raised in the city of Atlanta, Hardwick was an avid sports player as well as writer as a youth. Due to his skills in basketball, baseball, and football, he earned a full scholarship to The University of Georgia. Despite being a star player, Hardwick minored in theater due to his love of acting and writing. He is a member of the historically black fraternity Alpha Phi Alpha.

After his college graduation, Hardwick tried out for several NFL football teams and did not make any teams. After living in his car for a year due to struggling to find a job, Hardwick found his first breakthrough role in the 2004 film Sucker Free City. He was eventually casted in hit movies such as Beauty Shop, Miracle at St. Anna, The A-Team, Kick Ass, and For Colored Girls. He has also had starring roles in television shows such as Saved and Dark Blue, aside from his lead role on Being Mary Jane.

Hardwick currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
